TMT Group Insurance Trust

Benefit from Strength in Numbers

Medical Image 1Are you a small to medium size manufacturer tackling a big insurance company for your employee benefits? Instead, realize the advantage of strength in numbers by joining with other TMA member firms in the TMT Group Insurance Trust Program.

Health insurance leads the list of service benefits that the Tooling and Manufacturing Association (TMA) members want most. Like everyone else, TMA member firms are searching for ways to control the growing costs of providing health insurance to their employees.

What Is the TMT Group Insurance Trust?

Through the TMT Group Insurance Trust program, TMA members can pool the claims experience of participating companies and their employees. By joining together, this collective membership creates a large risk pool to help lower costs for many TMA businesses that would otherwise have to buy insurance on their own. The TMT Group Insurance Trust not only covers day-to-day claim activity, but it also creates a Special Contingency Reserve (SCR) that is owned by the Trust. As the SCR fund grows, it earns interest, which helps it continue to grow. Risk charges and claim margins are significantly reduced which can also help lessen premium increases over the life of the plan. The Trust provides a unique alternative to other insurance plans and allows participating employer firms to take ownership and control of their premium dollars.

Doctor Image 1A board of trustees is elected to oversee the insurance Trust, made up of volunteers who are your peers. They are tooling and manufacturing company owners and executives just like yourself, and also members of TMA. The trustees are well qualified to represent your interests and work hard to provide you and your employees with attractive health insurance benefits at a reasonable cost.
